Lace

A 17th century style Punto in Aria linen needle lace square, from 17th century research project, designed based on lace pattern books of the time and extant pieces of lace.

Six samples of bobbin lace from 17th century designs or extant pieces, again from research project. The white pieces are made with linen thread, the others with metal passing thread.

‘Anterior Aspect’, A contemporary piece of needle lace, a lifesize depiction of a dissected human arm, viewable from both sides. This piece was displayed in Hunterdon Art Museum, New Jersey, USA for their 2018/19 exhibition - Lace not Lace: Contemporary Fiber Art from Lacemaking Techniques. I was one of five lace artists from the UK included, and the youngest in the entire exhibition!

These 3 lace insect pieces were displayed (as well as the self portrait below) as part of Headford Lace's exhibition ‘The Space Between’ in the summer of 2020. They are all made of fine wire and silk thread.

Three more contemporary needle lace pieces. The self portrait is a mixture of needle and bobbin tape lace, and was exhibited as part of Headford Lace’s exhibition ‘The Space Between’ in summer 2020.

A tatted lace collar. Self designed, made using cotton thread and glass beads.
